Phuket is a rainforested, mountainous island in the Andaman sea. One of the most famous and largest islands in Thailand. The weather in Phuket is hot and humid throughout the year, makes it the perfect weather to enjoy beaches. Thailand is filled with beaches, resorts, and attractions. Besides these you can experience the nightlife; parties and markets, dig into its deliciously varied culinary world and explore its architecture and art.
During my trip to Phuket in August the storm was passing by, it didn’t affect the weather completely. The rain would last 2 hours during the day and the clear skies would show up. There are plenty of tourist areas but as for women they should be conscious apart from stealing the male population walking around could mistreat you.
To summarise some of the places I have listed them below, Patong beach was worth the most.
The Tiger Kingdom is located just next to the well-known and long-established Go-Kart race track, just before climbing the hill leading to Patong Beach. The place is surprisingly large, clean and very well organized and as soon as you enter, you’ll see several options offered to the visitors. It opens at 9 in the morning and closes at 6 in the evening. The price ranges from 950 baht to 2500 baht per person, depending on the type of packages.
This 2.5 km beach destination is famed for its vibrant shopping and nightlife as much as its soft-sanded cove, which is popularized throughout the year. Nowhere else in Phuket has so many attractions or restaurants. Although exploring for yourself is part of the fun of visiting a new place, sometimes you want a few recommendations to help you get started. Patong is one of the top destinations in all of Thailand for nightlife. As well there are plenty of shops to guide you for full day package deals.
Situated on Mai Khao beach, Splash Jungle Water Park is a common name when it comes to water parks in Phuket and even all of Southern Thailand. There are as many as a dozen water slides, plenty of other rides and pools to keep the children busy. There are professional lifeguards to ensure order and safety throughout the water park. The park is a part of the Centara Grand West Sands Resort – guests staying here can enjoy the thrills here for free – and is only a few kilometers from the Phuket Airport.
Plane watching spot on Mai Khao beach
Phuket Airport is located in the north of Phuket island, about 10km from the Sarasin bridge (as the crow flies, or about 20km by road) and about 40km from Patong beach. You can stand on the beach right under the west end of the airport runway, and watch the planes taking off or landing right overhead. Planes land from the west, over the sea and the beach, come in very low to land near the start of the runway. If you are flying into Phuket you’ll always get a good view if you have a window seat! The direction of takeoff and landing depends on the wind
Popular night markets
Phuket Walking Street weekend market also called ‘Lard Yai’ by the locals and is now the most popular attraction in Phuket Town. This weekend street market was an instant success, denoting a need for something to happen in Thalang Road, the historical part of town. Night markets are not new to Phuket City, the old Naka Weekend Market on the outskirt of the city, near Central Festival, has always been very popular but is not as fun nor creative as the Phuket Walking Street.
Chillva Market Phuket is one of the best weekday night markets on the island. Everyone seems to love them, Thai teenagers, more than everyone else. Every town in Thailand has a surprising amount of night markets, and they are always packed, so it’s no surprise that there are now more than 7-night markets in Phuket. Also, Chillva Market Phuket makes smart use of those old metal containers as this is the trend in Thailand.
To conclude, I enjoyed my stay in Phuket and the best part was staying in the hotel. I suppose this comes with age the older you get the more you prefer to rest. Other attractions I visited were the Trick eye museum, but I think I am getting over them as this was my 3rd visit to a trick eye museum. I wanted to go old town however we were running out of time, but we did get to visit a cat cafe the only downside was the cats were sleeping. If you were to ask me I would go for another trip to Phuket, whether it a family trip with kids or to relax.
